Coastal Liner is the dream of George and Julie Caruana and still remains a family owned and operated company today. The Caruana family has a long history of ownership in the bus industry, the first two generations being bus operators in the Mediterranean Island of Malta, the third generation establishing Coastal Liner, with the fourth generation now also involved Coastal Liner's operation.

Established in 1986 after the acquisition of the Dooralong to Wyong bus run from local operator James McElhinney, Coastal Liner commenced operating under it's original business name 'Dooralong Valley Bus Service. Initially operated using an AEC and a Bedford bus, it was not until 1988 that the third vehicle was added, after acquiring the bus runs previously operated by Coast and Country, covering parts of Dooralong, Jilliby, Wyee and Warnervale.

In the early 1990's, following the addition of a number of vehicles to the fleet, we started to spread our wings and moved into charters. This was the beginning of the successful and reputable charter business we have today.

1996 marked the inception of the first coach into our fleet, the commencement of our renaming process from Dooralong Valley Bus Service to Coastal Liner Coaches and the introduction of the current fleet livery.

Today, Coastal Liner continues to expand with the communities it services and now operates; Regular Route bus services linking Warnervale, Hamlyn Terrace, Woongarrah, Jilliby, Dooralong and Wyee with Lake Haven, Westfield Tuggerah and Wyong; School Bus services to schools in the areas named above as well as schools in Gosford and Erina; Bus and Coach Charter services, locally and interstate, and; Australia-wide touring through our newest arm, Coastal Liner Touring.

We boast a proud record of safety and innovation when it comes to bus and coach travel. Coastal Liner was the first company on the Central Coast to introduce Seat-belt equipped coaches...the first to introduce Ultra-Low Floor Wheelchair accessible buses, and...the first to introduce large capacity buses and Seat-belt equipped coaches.

Years of tireless work has meant that Coastal Liner now boasts a name synonymous with a service and product that is leading the way on the Central Coast.
